What a Clean Beans deep clean includes
Daily backflushing helps, but it doesn't get everything. A deep clean gets into the parts where old coffee oils and buildup hide — the stuff that makes shots taste bitter and machines work harder.
On the machine
- Group heads deep cleaned and backflushed
- Shower screens & dispersion parts removed and cleaned
- Portafilters and baskets soaked and scrubbed clean
- Steam wands cleared and polished
- Drip tray, drip grid and exterior detailed
- Basic check-over — seals, screens and anything that looks worn gets flagged for you
Add a grinder clean — $40 each
- Hopper washed and dried
- Burr chamber brushed and cleared of stale grounds
- Chute and doser / dosing area cleaned
- Exterior wiped down and detailed
Add grinders when you book — $40 per grinder, done during the same visit.

Hi, I'm Marcus. I've been a barista for about 8 years, and for who knows how long of that time, deep cleaning the espresso machine has been part of my job. Group heads, screens, portafilters, steam wands, if it builds up coffee oils, I've scrubbed it.
The thing is, I actually really enjoy it. Getting into the detailing of a machine, taking it from tired and gunked-up to clean, shiny, and pulling properly, is satisfying work. And it matters: a machine that only looks okay can still be putting out a dull, bitter shot.
That's why I started Clean Beans. I make sure a machine doesn't just look good when I leave. It puts out an above-average product, shot after shot, for the people drinking it. The same care I put into machines I've worked on for years, now for café owners across Montreal and Laval.

How much does a deep clean cost?
Flat rate: $150 for a 2-group machine and $200 for a 3-group. Quarterly plan (4 cleans a year): $125 per visit for 2-group, $150 per visit for 3-group. Grinder cleans are $40 each.
How often should I book one?
Every 3 months is a good rhythm for most busy cafés — that's exactly why the quarterly plan exists. Lower-volume cafés may stretch it a bit longer; we'll tell you honestly what your machine looks like it needs.
How long does it take, and will it disrupt service?
We schedule around your hours — before open, after close, or in a slow window — so your bar isn't down during a rush. Timing depends on machine size and condition; we'll confirm it when you book.
Which machine brands do you work on?

Is this a repair service?
No — Clean Beans is a deep cleaning and detailing service, not mechanical repair. If we spot worn seals, screens or anything that needs a technician, we'll flag it clearly so you can get it handled.
